What if your whole world was a lie? The thrillingly dark conclusion to the No. 1 New York Times bestselling DIVERGENT trilogy. What if a single revelation - like a single choice - changed everything? What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected? The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered - fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she's known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories. But Tris's new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature - and of herself - while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love. Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.

I have heard so many mixed reviews on this last book of the series and now I know why. The ending was really sad and I cried, but it was also beautiful in a way. Positives: - I love how four ended up becoming a political figure under Johanna in the “New Chicago”. - the fact that the whole time David was evil and trying to wipe out the memories of the whole city of Chicago was crazy, but the fact that they stopped him is crazier. - I really liked how Caleb was forgiven by Tris right before her death. It really warmed my heart because that’s all he wanted. - I respect how Peter took the memory serum to start over because he wanted to become a better person and I am glad Veronica Roth allowed him to become some what better and start a new life. - it’s so bad ass that Tris can survive all of the serums even the death serum like that is so cool - the build up of trust between four and try’s throughout all the books makes tris’ death so much more sad because of how Four responds. He really just shows raw emotions and I can’t wow. - the short chapters of four grieving after Tris’ death had me very emotional and omg. Negatives: - Tris gets shot and dies... - David didn’t die... I’m sad because he was an awful person who was fine with destroying everyone’s memories for his own personal gang. - I wish there were more chapters about the fringe because they only went once technically and that was it, so I would’ve loved to see more storyline between the woman tris met in the fringe and how she lived because that really helped tris to understand how they survive. I want to read the series again and I just finished but thank god I have The prequel left 🙌🏻 Overall: 4 out 5

I don't wholly agree with some of the storyline choices on this one, but still a decent ending to an incredible first book.
