If you're a Leonardo DiCaprio fan or you love his movies then you should definitely watch this one out too. It's pure acting man ! Seriously the whole cast has performed so well and so good that in some normal scenes you can watch out great acting of them. It has great storyline and superb screenplay. Definitely a dope from me. You should watch it.

Cops or Criminals. When you're facing a loaded gun what's the difference? It’s safe to say that Martin Scorsese has had a phenomenal career in show business as a director. This is a claim that I argued in my review of Taxi Driver (1976), one of Scorsese’s best films. His ability to diverge himself into many feelings and subjects in his films is truly admirable, earning him his spot as a indisputable giant in the filmmaking industry. One such diversion is The Departed (2006). Like in Taxi Driver (to a certain degree), the director shows that when he deals with the street life and gangsters (such as Mean Streets (1973), GoodFellas (1990) and Casino (1995)), his work is foremost top-grade. He gives you the most sincere look at the other side of the major U.S. cities and the underdogs that roam around it. This film, though based in Massachusetts, is no exception. In fact, I’d argue it’s as good as GoodFellas. Furthermore, I’d argue that it’s one of the best films the 21st century brought us. The swagger and sharpness that exudes from this remarkable film is second-to-none. Scorsese puts you on the edge of your seat and keeps you there for the entirety of the movie. This, in the midst of the darkness and brutal surroundings this film finds itself in, is achieved by a stunningly entertaining top-notch ensemble cast: Alec Baldwin, Martin Sheen, Mark Wahlberg, Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio to name but a few. All of these actors are on top of their games, give the performances of their careers, and are used superbly by Scorsese for this film. To add to this, nearly all of the perfectly placed shots and camera angles featured in this movie are some of the greatest in a Scorsese film, let alone in 21st century film in general. In all, Scorsese puts the viewer directly in the minds and lives of the main characters of this film, as well as their inner struggles as the movie strolls along. It’s no surprise that this master of film directing helped the movie win Best Picture and Best Achievement in Directing, among other prestigious awards at the 2007 Academy Awards. One of the greatest gangster movies you’ll ever see, The Departed is a movie well worth your time and the price of admission, whatever that price may be.

This movie was amazing. The cast is Top Grade (Jack Nicholson, Matt Damond, Mark Wahlberg, Leonardo DiCaprio, Alec Baldwin) and it is directed by Martin Scorsese, which is right in his wheelhouse (Crime, gangsters, mobs, etc.). Jack Nicholson steals every scene, and the cat and mouse between DiCaprio and Damond is truly suspenseful. It's a great film with plenty of twists, great acting, a fantastic plot, and a 100% reachability rating.
