Amazing. This got me really thinking, kind of own mind game and two faces in one. Can't explain, just watch it it will be always worth it

This film was incredible, I could hardly look away: the acting, the story, the score, the cinematography; all mesmerizing and done almost perfectly. There were moments where the story got confusing (particularly the horror moments). Way more sexual than I expected this film to get as well. I think I would enjoy this even more on a rewatch, but I want to give plenty of time before doing so.

This movie is amazing. It’s beautiful yet disturbing, and manages to keep shocking the viewer. Natalie Portman was brilliant, portraying a young ballerina who seems to be suffering with some type of paranoia. Her character is wildly complexed, and kind of twists the viewers mind, into slight confusion, all while never loosing your attention. She is also shown to be her ‘own enemy’.
I thought it was wildly similar to Damien Chazelles movie ‘whiplash’. In the sense that it was all about reaching that ultimate perfection. I also feel the ‘bad guys’ in both these movies were very similar. They both seemed to manipulate and push their students past their limits, as their teachers, however this movie showed it in a more predatory manner.
If you enjoyed whiplash you should definitely watch this, and vice versa
Would definitely recommend

Black swan is a great drama with disturbing scenes throughout making the movie also a horror. The movie is made intense by the sounds of Swan Lake pushing the appropriate scenes to the extreme that they needed to be at.
Natalie Portman plays the vulnerable role so well and is so good in this film. Along with Vincent Cassel (who featured in La Haine) is so good at being the villain in this one and his character reminded me of Jk Simmons’ character from Whiplash
The film is thought provoking and has a perfect ending leaving its audience shocked and amazed.
Overall this movie is fantastic from start to finish with a great cast, great acting, and a fantastic story of manipulation, control and selfishness
A good character piece. A journey into self mutilation on the path to perfection.
