They decided to save Johnny Cage for the sequel & instead introduced a new character. Based on the popular video game series. The action scenes were good & the updated CGI a vast improvement. The new cast did a good job stepping into the iconic roles. The original is a superior movie but this one was fun too.

Largely for fans of the source material but far from fatal(ity) flawed, Mortal Kombat revives the franchise in appropriately violent fashion.

This is a hard one for me to rate. I LOVED the combat and the action while completely despising the plot. There are moments that are great of course, but this is a film you go into simply for the action (which doesn’t disappoint). Overall, I can’t say this makes me want to play a Mortal Kombat game or watch another film in the franchise, but this is a decent enough film that I’d rewatch after plenty of time away.

Pretty good, Sub-Zero vs Scorpion story line and Kano in general were the best things about it, prefer the original Mortal Kombat movie

This was a pretty good movie. I was genuinely surprised. This was a much-needed improvement from the Annihilation dumpster fire disaster. This movie unlike the previous two stays more faithful to the video game. If you played the Mortal Kombat games growing up, you will be happy to see the over-the-top violence, catchphrases, and finishing moves on the big screen. I am curious to see what they do with a sequel. Would love to see Johnny Cage.

Though I'm aware of the nostalgia that this movie has for the people around the glove, the previous ones were just absolute garbage when compared to this. This movie was so good on action, casting and screenplay that I don't think any previous one had. Though the storyline was a bit short on character building like 7/10, but the movie was so good and the visual effects were just m ind blowing. Believe me if you watched this on a phone or laptop please don't, watch it again on your TV with the best quality you've got. Fantastic movie.

2021’s glossy new game adaption may be a far stretch from a Flawless Victory, it is nonetheless a fun and fast addition to the game’s lore that is gory, chaotic and cheesy in all the right places.

Mortal kombat is a very special property for me so going into it i was nervous knowing how other video game movies pan out but i left this viewing pretty pleased even tho i thought Cole Young was so unnecessary he was passable at the most but im excited with what they had to offer, hopefully we get more in a future sequel.

Played the games religiously on super Nintendo and Playstation when I was younger and was also young enough to think the 1995 movie was amazing keywords being young enough. That being said there are MANY remakes these days that just shouldn't happen.. I think this one was well deserved especially with how far vfx have come in the past 25 years. Alot of lore and gore from the games they did it justice! My only criticism is the casting for some characters like Liu Kang and Raiden but maybe that's my childhood self thinking that the 95 cast was perfect and should never change.

When you’re dealing with a movie based on a video game, traditional criticisms don’t really apply. The screenplay was respectful the legend of the video game. And they offered some background and through the characters in a way that will please hard-core fans. Certainly it’s not fine dining, but it’s fine, And it’s rust form, good guys versus bad guys, the world needs to be saved, lots of CG, as the other special effects. Added bonus, lots of fire. All in all, it was entertaining. Not for everybody but for fans, yes.

I was super excited about this movie, went in with very low expectations on plot character development etc but those expectations were too high. If you are a fan of the game you will get some enjoyment out of it, if you are not I doubt you will enjoy it!

To be a fan of the Mortal Kombat franchise because it was quite good, giving very good action scenes, and sharing one or another fatality, also certain frames of the film try to resemble the game, which makes it an entertaining movie, without losing the general idea, maintaining its true essence.
