The best book in the series

Speaker for the Dead (Ender's Saga, #2)
1986 . Orson Scott Card

Takes the character of Ender you love and takes the story to the place it needs to. Even better than the first, just a bit hard to start as so much of it is new and without Ender

Ender's Game
1994 . Orson Scott Card

An incredible work of Science Fiction. World and design are incredible. The function of zero gravity battles is so "new" for a book that is so old. Characters are powerful. You can't help but feel for Ender. Feel his suffering and his pain, but also his triumph and confidence. An amazing story that stands on its own. Starting the journey of Ender and the life lesson of compassion

The environment is written beautifully. The emotion is strong. The characters are lovable and complex. The story is gripping.

Nolan made a "Bond" movie. I'm all here for it. Not his best work yet, but still amazing

Ad Astra
2019 . Science Fiction, Drama

Ad Astra this is gonna be a whole story so buckle up Im going to take the liberty of guessing that most of us go to the cinema for entertainment (joy, escapism, fan favorites, a good story or laugh, whatever)  I too am this way. Going out of my joy and love for filmmaking and the powerful art-form it is.  Yes i enjoy my movies and I love a fun story or good character. Great acting a cinematography always reel me in.  But i like to say that movie watching is a learning and improving experience for me. Something beyond just watching with your brain turned off. Gaining a meaning or insight, greater purpose or thought for life and others. (That was 🧀) NEVER before has a movie been so "meditative" to quote my friend. The whole time i was seeking for understanding. Yes of course understanding about the plot/story. Even more than that understanding of myself and the reaction I was having to what this film was presenting.  I find it difficult to explain this experience. So new and foreign, still without defining words.  But it is a film that never once lost my attention. A film with great acting and story telling. Unique perspectives and ideas, even a new type of story. Always "subverting" my expectations in a pleasant and profound way. It makes me consider my existence and relationship to life. Relationship to those around me, to my job and priorities, to the universe as a whole.  A film so expansive in space yet depicting the great stature and instability of a simple human. Maybe this all just poetic junk. But I'm grateful I saw it and for those who made it.  Definitely a Blu-ray purchase down the road to continue to study. On top of all that thus film is BEAUTIFUL. WOW I was constantly amazed at the look of space and light and earth and space equipment.  I'm amazed at the vfx and zero gravity work of Brad Pitt (not sure what tactic they used)  The action was so new and refreshing honestly surprising. [The moon "battle" and surprising killer monkeys] It was balanced so well with the greater story and events but so new to see. Such well done action in zero and low gravity. Brought a new weight and intensity to the danger of fighting. It makes me want to see a whole action movie devoted to this type of fighting (Alita sequel?) But I would hate to see this new "battle ground" wasted. i think the action was so amazing because it was so sparse. TL;DR The movie was great Made me think  Great acting Beautiful cinematography Exciting and surprising action New story and storytelling

Interstellar
2014 . Adventure, Drama, Science Fiction

The film just gets better the more you watch it. Pacing, story, acting (especially McConaughey), THE SCORE, time, emotion. Just a masterpiece.  Nolan was ambitious with this, especially the last act. I've got to say that the second time most of the complaints I had about the tesseract resolved themselves.

Little Women
2019 . Drama, Romance

.Watched it because of my wife, and I loved it.  Not normally a type of movie I enjoy but this is loved. The cast is phenomenal, directing is even better. Just solid storytelling of something as simple as living a life full of choices. Really really enjoyed it.  Handled the idea of individual freedom vs "marriage" in a way I loved!

Captain Marvel
2019 . Action, Adventure, Science Fiction

.Saw it in theaters, forever ago. I had a blast and walked out happy. Never really thought of it, kinda forgot about it, just knew it was kinda hated on for weird reasons I felt were unjustified, but I hadn't watched it enough to defend. My opinion was "fluid" Not anymore! This is great! It landed well with me this time. Really well. (with some help from Em @ Verbal Diorama https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/verbal-diorama-803268/episodes/captain-marvel-37588665 ) The action is great, the music (soundtrack and score) is even better, Brie is a lot of fun. You can tell her and Jackson are having a great time.  The idea of identity and being told who we are and what to do with emotions is something for all of us, male or female. In addition to a great message about confidence!  Again I had a blast! Even better the second time. So what if she is OP just fix it later or whatever. We trust you Kevin, just keep bringing us great fun! The Basement Binge Podcast: https://basementbinge.podbean.com/e/captain-marvel-mcu-infinity-saga-phase-3/
