You know a show is doing something good when it’s both a launchpad for new careers in entertainment, as well as a jumpstarting previously big names back into everyday conversation. Funny & smart…the show is easy watching and very relatable. That theme song too!!! Come on it’s iconic!
There’s no doubt this show left a watermark when it went off the air. It was everything Dave is…funny, whip smart, relevant, timely. Surely it upset some people but it was important to do so. Now you can’t walk down the street without hearing someone do an impression or go online without seeing a meme that this show did first.
A certain blend of humor that you have to like in order to get into this show. (That’s basically Fred Armisen in a nutshell lol) - Once you’re in though this show is really good. So many great sketches and scenes each with new and recurring characters. Even if you don’t like one…it was always worth hanging around to see what comes next!
When the show first aired I loved it. It had everything from storylines, great character development and super funny. Then it was gone. I told people to watch it because “It was ahead of its time” and here we are today the show has a cult following, has made new episodes since the original hiatus and still retains the humor and fun from when it first aired.
This show had glimpses of greatness but IMO they were fleeting. Convoluted, edgy technological concepts that tried too hard to cover up the otherwise confusing and uninteresting main plot. Some good, but mostly bad, acting. A good effort but poor follow through.
One of those shows that hits all the marks. Acting, story, setting, drama. It brought all of it the first season and did it exceptionally well. They second season had a tough act to follow and also did a tremendous job. Just a great series.
Is it fair to call this the show that started binge watching? Haha I remember the fever that came with it. It’s all anyone talked about. There were news stories, commercials…tons of rumors and predictions about what it all meant. One of the first shows I can remember saying to myself…”ok I have to watch this because it’s all anyone is talking about.”
A super memorable show from my youth. It was funny and presented the “everyday life” of a teenager that I could connect with. Also one of my earliest memories of computers being used on tv. She would make games and stuff, usually involving her nerdy younger bro, and I remember thinking it was SO cool. Also she had the best friend that would climb a ladder and come in through her window…probably wouldn’t fly these days 😂
I’m no stranger to a good Stoner flick or show but this one kind of just got stale. I know it was a well received online series. I watched a few of the originals so was excited to see it get picked up but the magic didn’t follow it into the tv series. Felt forced.
More entertaining than I expected but still I had trouble sitting through many of the episodes and paying full attention. Kind of a shame as I think the story is funny & smart but I just couldn’t follow the execution. I found each episode never really went anywhere better than the previous one. Funny at times but not enough to finish and recommend
I might be one of the few who enjoyed this show given how long it lasted. A comedy with an alright plot, decent acting…but hilarious aliens. Any of the scenes with them, or in the ufo, were good but otherwise kinda lackluster over all.
Heard all the hype from people here on Friendspire and gave it a shot without knowing anything…came away loving it! Tons of (gory) action, lots of humor. The “other side” of superheroes. Definitely recommend a watch and get caught up for a possible next season
This show was everything when it was on the air. Everyone knows Mayim Bialik now from Big Bang Theory but if you’re a little older...your first thought of that show was “Hey it’s Blossom!” - this was kind of her intro role into the public eye. She was young, smart, funny and this sitcom was a great one to sit down and watch with the whole family. Another star of the show who you don’t see as much anymore...Joey Lawrence! Gotta love the 90s.
Started watching this on a whim and wow it turned out to be stellar! Everything about it is great, from the acting (Christina Milliotti and Ray Romano 👌) to the scenery and production. While the plot presents a sort of dark and twisted technological future, it’s done in a very light and comical way. (Kinda like if Black Mirror was a chronological comedy haha) What an underrated show! I hope we get a second season.
This was a fun show. Couples come to the hosts with a budget for either a wedding or mortgage down payment. The hosts then basically have a friendly “competition” to sway them to one or the other by taking to them around to possible options for each. There are plenty of popular shows devoted to just home buying or weddings. So this is a nice way to spice up the genre!
